Make A Wish

Jared was nominated and selected for the Make A Wish Program.  We went last night to the Wishing office and Jared was able to send his wish to the Wishing Wizard.  This is a picture of us in the Wishing Tower.  Jared's wish is to have fun with Legos.  Before we left last night they surprised Jared with several boxes of Legos for Jared even though his wish granting party isn't until next week.  It has been such a fun distraction for Jared.  He has been a busy Lego King working hard and putting together many legos (Indiana Jones legos, Starwars legos, etc.)  It really has been fun to see him so into it and forget about his sickness, even if it is just moments at a time.

We thought we would also post pictures of our Halloween - Jared was Ben 10 Alien Force from Cartoonnetwork, Gabrielle was a cute, "scary" witch, and Bradley dressed up as Batman.

These next two pictures are Andrew and Jared having fun waiting in a doctor's office.

Happy Autumn everyone.  We will post more next week all about Jared's wish granting party!

  3. I saw pics of your kids on Krista's blog. It is fun to see more of them (in their Halloween stuff) here too. They are all so adorable. Tell Jared, Gabrielle, and Bradley that we put all three of their names (and you two too) in the B'ham temple last night. We love you all and think you are wonderful.

  5. Hey guys, thanks for sharing. It sounds like the wishing party was super and please do post some pictures of the Legos creations.
From my view-point I think Andrew is the scariest guy and I'm not surprized that Grandpa Stephen knocked his golf ball in his eye............since he hurt his wrist Stephen's aim is way, way off. Love, Punkaman & Marilyn

  6. Great pictures you guys! We feel the same as everyone else...can't wait to see the wishing party pictures and the Lego creations Jared's been making! My boys are Lego maniacs and will be very interested in seeing what he's been building. :) Love you guys and tell Jared he's going to have to show it all off to the older cousins very soon.

  7. Today as I was putting my daughter to bed...her tantrum just about sent me over the edge. While she is only two, she's a sassy little girl with an attitude that can drive me up the wall! Her screaming for her barbies, more water, more blankets...etc....annoyed me to the core. After a long day at work, and chasing this child around the house to keep her from wrecking anything too much...I was relieved that she finally fell asleep and left me to read the news and of course catch up on my facebook activity.
I read an article about your son, and of course googled his name to read more. I stumbled upon this blog, and while I haven't read it entirely...it's melted my heart, and it humbled me in seconds.
What an experience it has been to read your blog. Me, a mother of only one child... with a level of patience that is close to none... find myself wondering how in the world I can act this way--my child is healthy. I'll say it again: My child is healthy...how can I seem ungrateful when she gets on my last nerve.
Of course everyone has their trials and own unique problems, but as a mother, I am in awe, and wonder if I could endure the same.
I am amazed at your courage. I am amazed at your little boy's smile.
I obviously have never met you,and do not know your family. And, to say that I know how you feel would be a lie. But, tonight my heart aches for your family.
    I will tell you this:
After reading your blog...I went upstairs and pulled my sleeping little daughter out of bed and rocked her as she slept. If anything--you have truely reminded me that life cannot be taken for granted.
Next time she spreads nail polish all over the wall, or dumps pancake mix on the floor...I think I'll laugh. And, I'll remind myself... life is short. Enjoy every moment--as you have shown by example with your family.
Your family is in my prayers.
